Thomas Baker, MD and Howard Gordon, MD began what was soon to be recognized as a world renowned plastic surgery center of excellence. They began the practice of office-based plastic surgery after they built on to the existing facility. They held the annual Baker Gordon Symposium which drew thousands of plastic surgeons around the world, and held extravagant receptions on the office property by the pool area. Miami Vein Center purchased the building in 2003 and completely remodeled and modernized it. It is home to 7 large exam rooms, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and multiple administrative offices, library, etc. Dr. Almeida has a 100% office-based vein surgery practice at this location. In keeping with the Baker tradition, Dr. Almeida is organizer of the International Vein Congress (IVC), now in its 6th year. Doctors from around the world experience new technology through live webcasts of cutting edge procedures as they are performed at Miami Vein Center. It is the only property certified for medical care on residential South Miami Avenue. Miami Vein Center is accredited by AAAHC.
